In 2012 I graduated from the University of Salford with a First Class Honours in Popular Music and Recording, where I studied session musicianship, performance, jazz harmony and theory among other things. This university was the first in the UK to offer a degree course in popular music studies, a curriculum that other universities soon adopted and adapted.

Whilst studying at university I started to teach professionally. Firstly teaching other students how to sight read music for guitar, and then moving on to teaching in a few private music schools in the North-West UK. Before my session work started to demand more of me I had 60 students (aged between 6 - 76 years old) that I would teach every week.

I have spent a long time fine tuning the ability to make music accessible to each and every student no matter their ability. Also, helping musicians who have played for a long time break past their barriers and move to the next level in their playing.
